OK so check this out. Before I head over to Estate (which was pretty sick by the way) I headed to Bond for a few drinks for my friend's birthday. I go in, say hi to everyone, you know whatever. Then I see this girl I know and I sneak up behind her and start rubbing her shoulders and back. I can do that you see, because I'm cool. She turns around, says hi to me, then I whisper in her ear, "I hope you're not here with another guy with me rubbing up on you." And she goes, "Yeah. He's right behind me!" Yeah. That just happened.

So anywho, I end up at Estate and for some reason this was probably the best night in the past month. Don't know what it was. Could have been the Vinyl Disciples ripping up the turntables as they always do. Or maybe it was all the HOT babelicious girls that were there. Or maybe it was simply my presence that made the night legendary. Who knows. Bo. Bo knows.

Last Man Standing

NICE GUYS FINISH LAST! Many of you have heard this phrase over and over again. Most of the men here have actually found out first hand as to how true this statement is. No one can figure it out, many of us have had futile attempts at trying to prove this theory wrong. We did all we could do, only to be left alone, kind of disturbed at the fact that you did everything you thought you were suppose to do, and yet the female still left you out in the cold. In theory all women want the NICE GUY, but in practice they all settle for the ASSHOLE...case and point.

***You know what time it is***

1. NICE GUY: Writes you a poem about how he feels, tells you how much you mean to him, you turn around and start ignoring him because you feel as though he’s getting too attached.
ASSHOLE: Sends you a text at 2:30am talking about he’s wondering what kind of thong you’re wearing, you answer back, 4 texts later he’s picking you up, 30 minutes later he’s driving you back home. Only then do you realize that you’re just the jump off and that you really should find someone else.

2. NICE GUY: Invites you out to eat, he holds the door for you, pulls the chair out, takes you on a romantic walk thru the park. Even tries to get a kiss before the night is over...you obviously start thinking he’s soft at this point. You start telling your girls he’s too attached.
ASSHOLE: Brings you back to his place, orders a pizza and wings, puts in a romantic comedy (you’ve barely finished seeing it), you GET IT IN, he finishes, fires up a blizz, turns on the PS3, and asks you if you’re girlfriend can come pick you up???

3. NICE GUY: Comes back from a trip and had the great intention of getting you a memento that he was thinking of you. You don’t really like the sand design of your name, and you really could care less that he was trying to get you something with sentimental value. You chuck it in the corner of the room.
ASSHOLE: Came back from a vacation with his boys, he doesn’t tell you about the trip, but every time his friends are around, they start talking about Miami...but he’s hush hush on the subject...You look thru his digital camera and find a lot of pictures you wish you didn’t look for.

4. NICE GUY: Invites you over to his house for a nice romantic dinner, he tries his hardest to replicate the dish you ordered that first night you guys went out. He was almost dead on, but you weren’t feeling it too much. Dinner’s done, you skip the movie, and call your homegirl to come pick you up.
ASSHOLE: Fixes himself a nice sandwich, sits down on the couch, only to then realize that you were hungry, instead of offering you half, he tells you that all the stuff for the sandwich is in the fridge, and the bread is in the third cabinet right of the sink.

5. NICE GUY: Was introduced to you by a mutual friend who speaks very highly of him.
ASSHOLE: Used to date someone you really didn’t think deserved him. So out of spite and envy you decided to give him your number.

6. NICE GUY: Will tell you what he feels, without any shame.
ASSHOLE: Thinks your psycho the minute you want to discuss the direction of the relationship.

7. NICE GUY: Will meet your family and friends and everyone will like him.
ASSHOLE: Doesn’t care to meet anyone, he doesn’t even want to be seen with you in public.

8. NICE GUY: Sends you messages about how interested he is in you, and that you’re someone he would like to get to know better.
ASSHOLE: Will leave a picture comment talking about how sexy you look in the pic, wait for you to sign on, and then proceed to tell you how much he undresses you with his eyes

9. NICE GUY: Tells you that he can see you guys having a future.
ASSHOLE: Tells you that he doesn’t know what he wants.

10. NICE GUY: Will take his time to get to know you.
ASSHOLE: Doesn’t remember your last name.

11. NICE GUY: Invites you into his home, and tells you stay as long as you need too, just so you can get your things together.
ASSHOLE: He lives with his parents, so there’s no place for you to go.

12. NICE GUY: Doesn’t want to build a relationship strictly on sex, so he doesn’t jump on you like a jack rabbit every chance he gets.
ASSHOLE: He only wants TO GET IT IN, and the rest of the stuff...spare the details.

13. NICE GUY: Will tell you how he feels about you without any hesitation. He knows he could eventually get ignored and worst yet denied. But he tells you.
ASSHOLE: Will wait for the perfect moment of vulnerability to try and come up and get some from you, just to tell you it was a mistake....that somehow keeps on repeating itself every weekend after 2am.

14. NICE GUY: Will kick it with you until the wee hours of the morning and not expect anything.
ASSHOLE: Well he’ll try to keep his composure, but after a few hours he’ll bail, and you probably won’t hear from him again.

15. NICE GUY: Has a Career.
ASSHOLE: Has worked at some point.

16. NICE GUY: Isn’t seeing anyone else.
ASSHOLE: He’s got a few women he see’s on the regs.

Most of the females are probably saying, well I haven’t met a nice guy. This could be true, you see NICE GUYºS are extinct. You see half our lives we’ve been told to be nice, and usually we get burnt in the process, because as you lady’s put it..."He’s just too nice!!" which doesn’t make any sense. Why ask for something then turn around and run from it? We learned what not to do, so we just go with what works, ASSHOLE it is. Cause no matter how much we try, you guys don’t help the cause. It’s always a one sided affair. We can’t give you what you want, when you yourself aren’t capable or ready to accept it. So the next time you have a question as to why you’re relationships are rocky, you might want to re-evaluate your inability to spot a good thing from a bad one.

A Freddy Remake? Really?

I'm doing my usual morning routine, reading Google News, and I come across an article about a remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. The first thought on my mind was, "oh great, another whack remake." Then I see that Jackie Earle Haley is playing Mr. Kreuger himself and I think, "Hmmm. This could be interesting." If that name doesn't ring a bell, he played Rorschach in Watchmen. Then I watch the trailer and I'm like, "Oh really? Yeah, this looks pretty damn sick." (I talk to myself a lot if you haven't noticed.) But I'm not done yet. I do my due diligence and find out that Samuel Bayer is directing this flick. You mean you don't know Samuel Bayer? Yeah, me neither because he's only directed music videos! Who does he think he is? Spike Jonze? Then I see who wrote the screenplay and the writers don't have anything of importance on their resume so now I'm having second thoughts. Either this is going to be a sleeper hit or a huge mistake. Given that I LOVE scary movies and Nightmare just happens to be my favorite (because it scared me the most as a kid) this movie better rock or I'm gonna hurt someone...and it might be you! Mwahaha!

What a wild night! Started off at the Fashion Week launch party hosted by W Boston with the who's who in fashion, media and entertainment...sippin' on some Absolut Boston cocktails. Then head off to 33 for the after party put on by Stuff Magazine...then Walid and I got interviewed by Dirty Water TV (should air on Sunday I think). Then we swung through Estate for the rest of the night and witnessed Mynt's very own Julian Ingrosso tear the house down! Then Walid and I said, you know what, let's head back to 33 for some more drinks, lol. Yeah...and to do it all over again Saturday night! Jeeeeez.

The other day my friend came over as I was editing Cristiano's photos and she said, "More pics of Cris? Is he like your only model?" as she giggled her cute little self. The answer? Yes. It seems like whenever Cris comes over I end up grabbing my camera and snapping some photos. But I seriously do need more people to photograph, not named Cristiano, haha.

We drove around town looking for this particular abandoned building I remember from high school, and it was perfect. It had a huge chimney and an old boiler inside this room like looked like a scene from Saw. We headed over there and alas, they tore the damn building down! I was heated! So then we headed down to the South side of Brockton and found this building in the cut, got out the car, and went to work. The doors were welded shut, which sucks, but hey I think the pics came out pretty good.

I must admit, Todd and Bethanie's wedding was pretty damn fun. Great DJ, good people, excellent food...all done in like 3 weeks time! Gotta give it up to them, they pulled this off without a hitch. Yes it was probably short notice, but hey, when it's your time, it's your time, and ain't nothing gonna stand in your way. It was a packed house with friend's and family dancing from everything from Konpa and Zouk to House and Old School R&B (my personal favorite). Stay tuned for Part 2...coming soon, to a...nevermind, that was just sound corny.

District 9: Usain Bolt is not human

How appropriate that Peter Jackson’s new alien movie “District 9” came out this weekend. The same weekend Jamaica’s Usain Bolt broke the all-time record for the 100m by effortlessly finishing the race in 9.58 seconds. What’s the connection you say? Well, obviously Usain Bolt is an alien. I thought it was pretty apparent but a few folks actually think he’s human…cute. I just didn’t know they allowed aliens to race in Track & Field competitions. I could have sworn it was a human only tournament…I stand corrected.

I know it may be hard for you to swallow, but there are actually quite a few people that are convinced Bolt is human…weirdos. All the evidence is there, clearly, but I’ve convinced people to believe much stranger things so here I go. But first, just a quick background on our man…I mean, alien friend, Usain Bolt.

When he actually landed on Earth in unknown, but it’s believed to be sometime circa 1923. He lay dormant in his transport cell until the mid 1980s when he mysteriously appeared in Jamaica. He tried fitting in with the locals by joining the Track & Field team and it’s also believed that Bolt’s true nature has been known to Jamaican government the whole time. This is all we know about him so far.

So back to the fools who think this alien dude is human. Put it to you like this. At age 16, Bolt was the youngest ever gold medalist at the Junior World Championships. Not human. He was the first junior sprinter to finish the 200m under 20 seconds. Again, not human. In May 2008, he set the world record in the 100m finishing in 9.72 seconds, broke the record again in August 2008 with 9.69 seconds, and once again set a new record last week crossing the line at 9.58 seconds. He set 3 world records in the 100m in a year and half. Human? I think not. Oh…by the way, he set the new record racing INTO a .9m/s headwind! Had there be no wind at all he would have finished at 9.49 seconds! Humans don’t do that kind of sh*t! AND…I’m not done…he wasn’t even running full blast! AND…I said I’m not done…his new record was the largest ever margin of improvement in the 100m world record since the beginning of electronic timing! Take that!

So I demand a full on investigation on Bolt’s interplanetary background because it’s not fair that we have an extra-terrestrial species running and winning all the damn medals. I want all his medals and records erased and we’ll just start over. Send Bolt back on his spaceship to whatever planet he came from and he can take “Michael Phelps” with him…if that is indeed his real name.

Pee Wee's Big Adventure | Coolidge Corner Theatre | August 22, 12am
Who doesn't love this classic 80's movie! Pee Wee had the coolest bike with the craziest gadgets on it. Remember all the weird little toys he had?


The Princess Bride | Coolidge Corner Theatre | August 17, 7pm
I remember when I watched Saw the first time, I was like, hey...I know that dude from somewhere! Best line in the movie, "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."


Tyson | Brattle Theatre | August 12, 5:30pm & 9:30pm
Arguably the greatest boxer of all-time, in my eyes at least. I saw this documentary already but not on the big screen. Definitely a very moving film that gives you a glimpse into the mad mad world of Mike Tyson.


Ghostbusters | Brattle Theatre | August 21, 22, 23, 24, 9:30pm
Who you gonna call? Well it depends what you need. So if you have a leaky faucet you might wanna call a plumber...but if your leaky faucet is due to an annoying little ghost, yeah, you might wanna give the Ghostbusters a ring.

Onset Cape Verdean Festival

Great turnout at this year's Cape Verdean Festival in Onset. Peter and I got there pretty late...lots of unexpected traffic. Well, it was expected, but we kinda sorta forgot about it. I haven't been to this festival in maybe 10 years and a lot has changed. First off there were a lot more people there than I remembered, and second, a lot more NON-Cape Verdeans there than any of the other three festivals. I think the community down there is really supportive.

I had my boy Cristiano pull some girls over for a "photo op" and passed out my business cards, lol. It was a real deal operation. Shout out to Studio 24 Graphix for designing and printing my business cards! All in all a good time down there and we got back to Brockton in like 20 minutes!

What the Twit?

Twitter is down! May day, may day! I repeat, Twitter is down! What the hell am I gonna do with my life until it comes back up? I had so many neat tweets lined up for all my fans but NO! Twitter decides to shit the bed. Even worse, I update my Facebook status through Twitter because, yeah, my job thinks its beneficial to me that I don't have access to the second best website in the world. So now I can't even do that. What the hell did Twitter do with the hundreds of millions of dollar it got in venture capital! Grrrrr! Nelly is mad.

Where's the Blue?

I noticed something the other day while I was stuffing my face with a greasy Philly cheesesteak. Why is there no blue food? You can never find food that's blue. I mean, you have green food: apples, limes. You have yellow food: bananas, squash. Red food: tomatoes and tamales. But no blue! What's blue? I know what you're thinking, "Hey what about blueberries?" Yes and no, they're blue on the vine...but on the plate, its friggin' purple! PURPLE! There's no goddamn blue food! Where is it? I want blue food and I want it now! Where are they hiding it? It probably gives you superpowers or something...and they are hiding it! Conspiracy!

I went out to Carson Beach in South Boston over the weekend to support my homie Lisa Bello. This is actually the first time I've ever saw her perform live so it was definitely a treat...well, I did just meet her for the first tie a couple weeks ago, lol. But, we were Facebook friends for a long time so it's like we've been best buds all along!

Anyway, her Album Release Party is August, 5th at Red Sky in Fanueil Hall!

Seatbelts Shmeatbelts

I don't wear seatbelts. I haven't for many years now ever since a friend of mine, who had her seatbelt on, died in a car accident, while the driver, who didn't wear his, lived. That was enough proof for me that I'll die when it's my time, seatbelt or no seatbelt. I know research states otherwise but I'll take my chances.

I know there are plenty of people in America who feel the same way as I do. I also believe there are plenty of people who would agree that seatbelt laws are dumb. If I want to risk my life by not wearing a seatbelt, that should be my decision, not that of the state.

I thought about this some more the other day. I think it's strange that people, myself included, fuss about seatbelt laws and fines despite the three to one odds that seatbelts would help prevent injury or worse yet, death, in an accident. On the other hand no one ever complains about being asked to buckle their seatbelt on a plane! Hardly ever happens. Let's not forget that if the plane indeed crashed, there's a pretty slim chance that the little piece of fabric and metal is going to do you any good.

So with this newfound outlook will I begin wearing my seatbelt? Nope, and I'll still complain about seatbelt laws. However, I'll start NOT wearing my seatbelt on any planes. Haha!

I Bid Thee Farewell, Myspace!

Today is an historical day. Today is the day I deleted my Myspace page! There's been a lot of commotion on the Internet and news stations about me deleting my page so I figured I'd let all my readers hear firsthand (actually...READ firsthand, lol) about the whole situation.

Basically it comes down to one simple concept...Myspace just sucks. I remember when Myspace, or "the Space" as us cool kids call it, was all the rage. You could upload photos, and holler at some hotties you were feeling, and design your profile page to include the five hottest women of all time, to name a few ideas. I'm not sure when it happened but at some point it's Suckness Factor began to rise and Facebook slowly started taking over even though Facebook, or "the Book" as us cool kids call it, was considered the nerdy version of Myspace.

Anyways, I was going to make this a long post about why Myspace is el whacko, but it doesn't really deserve all of my time. Plus, I still need to clean my condo since I my housekeeper called out sick today. Until next time.
